Chem 2013 Day 9

Below is a link to a YouTube video (~ 9 min) on Occam's razor, which explains the Law of Parsimony.

On Friday we will be using Mercury software to be able to examine crystallographic information files (CIF's) to study structures of solids. You should follow the directions in the document below to download and install the software.  You will also need the CIF's for the lesson.

After doing the Sticky Tape lab and developing the Thomson model, you ought to visit the AIP website (A Look Inside the Atom) to look over some of the evidence to support his view that it is the (-) charge that is mobile.
